Air Chief Marshal Sidhu visits Iraq, strengthens military ties with Iraqi Air Force


WEB DESK: Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu visited Iraq on a diplomatic and military tour, where he met with Lieutenant General Mahand Ghalib, Commander of the Iraqi Air Force, to discuss professional cooperation and bilateral military collaboration.

Upon arrival at the Iraqi Air Force headquarters, the Air Chief was received with a guard of honour, reflecting the significance of the visit. During the meeting, officials from both sides exchanged views on enhancing joint training, capacity building, and operational cooperation, with particular emphasis on strengthening practical collaboration between the two air forces.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu highlighted the deep religious and historical ties between Pakistan and Iraq and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the training and development of the Iraqi Air Force. Both sides agreed to advance joint exercises and training initiatives to further bolster interoperability and coordination.

The visit underscores the growing military engagement between Pakistan and Iraq, aiming to enhance professional standards, improve readiness, and foster long-term defense cooperation in the region.
