Pakistan and Iran reaffirm commitment to regional stability in Bishkek meeting

WEB DESK: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni in Tajikistan on Friday, where the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on border security and regional stability.

During the meeting, both ministers exchanged views on strengthening security cooperation along the Pakistan-Iran border, according to Dunya News.

They discussed improved border management mechanisms, curbing illegal cross-border activities and addressing the overall security situation in the region through enhanced coordination between relevant authorities.

Commitment to regional peace and sustained collaboration

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in the field of internal security and strengthening coordination between their respective law enforcement agencies.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasised that Pakistan attached high importance to its close relations with Iran and remained committed to promoting peace, stability and mutual cooperation in the region.

The Iranian interior minister Eskandar Momeni underscored the need to further enhance bilateral security cooperation to effectively address shared challenges.

Both countries agreed to maintain close coordination and continue joint efforts to improve law and order in border areas while tackling common security concerns.
