KARACHI: Resecurity, a US-based cybersecurity and intelligence firm, hosted the Anti-Fraud Pakistan 2026 Summit in Karachi, bringing together industry leaders, regulators and law enforcement officials to address rising fraud and cybercrime risks in the country’s expanding digital economy.
The event gathered chief executives, technology experts and policymakers for discussions on fraud prevention, cybersecurity innovation and the protection of financial systems, organisers said.
The summit featured keynote speeches, panel discussions and workshops focusing on emerging fraud trends, including the exploitation of vulnerabilities in banking, fintech and payment systems. Participants also examined the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in detecting and preventing financial crimes at scale.
Speakers stressed the need for stronger coordination between public institutions and private organisations to counter evolving cyber threats and financial fraud.
Among the speakers were Ammar Jaffri, former additional director general of the Federal Investigation Agency, Mukarram Ali Khan of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, and senior cybersecurity executives from major banks including Askari Bank, Habib Bank Limited, Bank Alfalah and Meezan Bank, as well as representatives from PwC.
“Hosting the Anti-Fraud Pakistan 2026 Summit underscores our commitment to supporting Pakistan’s efforts to combat fraud, the shadow economy and cybercrime,” said Sharafat Khan, managing director for Pakistan at Resecurity.
The summit also included an exhibition showcasing cybersecurity and fraud prevention technologies, with demonstrations of tools aimed at improving detection of money laundering and enhancing cybercrime investigation capabilities.
Organisers said the event concluded with calls for continued collaboration across sectors to address increasingly sophisticated threats.
