ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police have issued a special traffic advisory for commuters in the twin cities ahead of the movement of cricket teams for the upcoming Pakistan-Australia ODI series.

According to a traffic police spokesperson, temporary diversions will be put in place at different times on Club Road, Murree Road, Express Highway and Srinagar Highway. The movement of teams is expected to affect the normal flow of traffic on these routes.

Citizens have been advised to leave 20 to 25 minutes earlier than usual while planning their travel. Commuters have also been asked to use alternative routes and service roads during the diversions to avoid delays.

The spokesperson said traffic personnel will be deployed at different points to facilitate citizens and ensure better traffic management during team movements.

Citizens have also been urged to stay updated on the latest traffic situation through Islamabad Traffic Police’s WhatsApp channel, social media platforms and FM 92.4.

The advisory comes ahead of the first ODI between Pakistan and Australia, scheduled to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on May 30. Traffic pressure is expected to increase in the twin cities due to the match and related security arrangements.
