BEIJING: Pakistan and China on Tuesday reaffirmed their strategic partnership and called for peace and stability in West Asia after high-level talks between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the meeting, held in an “exceptionally warm and cordial atmosphere,” included both restricted talks and delegation-level discussions covering bilateral ties and regional developments.
The two sides reviewed the full spectrum of relations and agreed to further strengthen their “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership,” with a focus on advancing high-quality development and expanding economic cooperation, including under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor framework.
They also discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including evolving developments in West Asia, and issued a five-point initiative aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to regular high-level exchanges and closer coordination at multilateral forums.
The talks come as Pakistan and China mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, underscoring what both sides described as an “iron-clad friendship” and enduring strategic trust.
