Pakistan Day: banks to remain closed tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Banks throughout Pakistan will be closed this Saturday in observance of Pakistan Day, said the State Bank of Pakistan in a notification issued on Friday.

“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on March 23, 2024 (Saturday) being a public holiday on the occasion of ‘Pakistan Day’ as declared by the Government of Pakistan,” a notification issued by Pakistan’s central bank read.

On Saturday, the nation will commemorate Pakistan Day with a renewed commitment to advancing progress, prosperity, and the robust defense of the country. This day holds significance as it marks the anniversary of the historic Lahore Resolution passed in 1940, where the Muslims of the subcontinent articulated their demand for a separate homeland.
