Pakistan destroys seven terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan in precision strikes

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has carried out a series of precision operations along the Pak-Afghan border, destroying seven terrorist hideouts in response to recent attacks claimed by the Afghan Taliban and affiliates of Fitna al-Khawarij.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting confirmed that the operations were based on actionable intelligence and targeted camps linked to both the Taliban and Islamic State factions operating in Afghanistan.

According to the ministry, the attacks; including the recent incident in Bannu, were orchestrated under the guidance of Khawarij leadership in Afghanistan. The Pakistani Taliban group Fitna al-Khawarij has taken responsibility for these assaults.

The statement noted that the objective of the operations was to prevent foreign-based terrorist networks from using Afghan territory to plan and execute attacks against Pakistan. The ministry also called on the Afghan interim government to ensure that Khawarij and other militant elements do not exploit Afghan soil for cross-border violence.

Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability, the ministry stressed that while the country seeks peace, the safety and security of its citizens remain the highest priority. Officials further urged the international community to hold the Taliban accountable to the commitments made under the Doha Agreement, underscoring that curbing the use of Afghan territory for attacks is critical for both regional and global security.

These operations reflect Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to neutralise threats emanating from across the border while reinforcing calls for coordinated action against terrorism in the region.
