ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Planning and Special Initiatives has dismissed reports of not including new projects in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) by China terming them entirely baseless and unrelated to reality.
According to a press release issued by the planning ministry, Pakistan and China are determined to expand the scope of CPEC into various sectors.
“Under the CPEC, Pakistan has witnessed improvements in its infrastructure, energy, and transportation sectors, and various sectors have seen significant growth due to CPEC,” the press release said further elaborating that the CPEC has improved Pakistan’s economic condition and positioned Pakistan as an attractive destination for investment on the global stage.
It said that China and Pakistan are working on expanding CPEC cooperation to areas such as water resources, environmental changes, agriculture, and tourism, all of which were already part of the long-term projects under the CPEC.
