ISLAMABAD: As the Afghan Taliban continue harbouring terrorists groups in the country, Pakistan on Friday again expressed the hope that the Afghans would one day get a genuine representative government.
At a weekly press briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said Islamabad had repeated expressed reservations to the Taliban regime over the presence of Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP) and Fitna al-Hindustan (BLA) in Afghanistan.
However, the Taliban regime has not only failed to act against the terrorist groups but also resorted to unprovoked aggression against Pakistan.
That’s why Shafqat said Pakistan had serious reservations over the recent border attacks involving the Afghan Taliban but also the Khawarij.

He said Pakistan foiled the Afghan Taliban attacks — which also involved TTP and other groups. The 48-hour temporary ceasefire was meant to find a solution through dialogue, Shafqat added.
Earlier on Thursday, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Thursday said “TTP is Kabul’s proxy and Afghanistan is a proxy of India” and pointed to the contradiction in the alliance — on one hand the Hindutva ideology of extremist BJP and the white flag with kalma on the other.

Afghanistan planned the attacks while sitting in India, said the defence minister — a reference to the timing as the interim foreign minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, is in India.
On the other hand, the Foreign Office spokesperson also said that Pakistan was taking steps according to law to deal with the Afghan nationals living in Pakistan.
