ISLAMABAD: Air travel between Pakistan and Iran has resumed after a 60-day suspension following regional tensions triggered by U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, officials said on Thursday.
The first commercial flight operated by Iran’s Mahan Air arrived in Islamabad from Tehran on Thursday, marking the restoration of passenger air links between the two countries.
Flight W5-1185 landed in the Pakistani capital carrying passengers from Tehran, while the return leg departed shortly afterwards as flight W5-1184, officials said.
The service had been suspended since February 26 amid heightened regional tensions.
Officials said Mahan Air is scheduled to operate its next flight on the route on May 7, indicating a gradual normalization of air traffic between Islamabad and Tehran.
