Pakistan, Kuwait agree to deepen cooperation across key sectors

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Kuwait on Wednesday agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various key sectors during delegation-level talks held in Islamabad.

The development took place during a meeting held between Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Kuwaiti counterpart.

The meeting agreed on extending mutual interest in different areas, including trade, investment, energy, defence, information technology (IT) and others.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing high-level exchanges and institutional collaboration to further deepen the longstanding brotherly ties between the two countries.

According to the Foreign Office, the two foreign ministers also pledged to maintain close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the Kuwaiti foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s hospitality and acknowledged the country’s support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The discussions also covered the evolving situation in the Middle East and Palestine, with the Kuwaiti side appreciating Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and regional stability.

The DPM Dar reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen its enduring partnership with Kuwait across all areas of mutual interest.
