Pakistan lose three wickets in first ODI against Sri Lanka after 20 overs

RAWALPINDI: In the first match of the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the visitors won the toss and elected to field first.

The match is being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where Pakistan’s batting is currently under way. Pakistan have lost three wickets for 77 runs in the 20th over.

Since their first encounter in 1982, Pakistan have maintained a clear edge over Sri Lanka in head-to-head contests.

The Green Shirts have not lost an ODI series to Sri Lanka in the past ten years.

So far, the two sides have played 20 bilateral ODI series — Pakistan have won 14, while Sri Lanka have claimed six.

Team change

The Pakistan Cricket Board made a minor change to the national squad for the series. Middle-order batter Hasan Nawaz was sent back to domestic cricket and replaced by Abdul Samad.
