Pakistan, Saudi agree to continue diplomatic efforts amid escalating regional tensions

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud agreed to continue diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing escalating tensions in the region.
During a telephonic conversation on Saturday, both leaders reaffirmed the importance of dialogue, mediation and close coordination.
The two leaders expressed deep concern over the heightened tensions following the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and emphasised the need for creating a conducive environment for diplomatic engagement.
Ishaq Dar underscored the importance of sustained diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability, stressing that dialogue and mediation remain essential to addressing regional challenges.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan briefed Ishaq Dar on Saudi Arabia’s perspective regarding ongoing diplomatic initiatives and efforts to ease tensions.
The two sides agreed to remain closely engaged and maintain strong bilateral coordination as part of their shared commitment to regional peace and stability.
Dar in conversation with Maldivian FM
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with his Maldivian counterpart Iruthisham Adam, reaffirming the commitment to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
During the telephonic conversation, Ishaq Dar congratulated Iruthisham Adam on the upcoming 61st Independence Day of the Maldives.
Both foreign ministers discussed regional and international developments and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, according to a spokesperson for the Foreign Office.
The spokesperson said Iruthisham Adam appreciated Pakistan’s role in facilitating efforts to mediate the conflict between Iran and the United States.
The two sides reiterated their resolve to enhance bilateral relations and continue working together to promote cooperation between Pakistan and the Maldives.
The foreign ministers also agreed to maintain regular contact and remain engaged on issues of common concern.
