Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has said that Islamabad has continued its positive diplomatic tradition by actively supporting ongoing efforts to promote dialogue and de-escalation.

In an interview, the ambassador said Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives have been backed by key partners including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye and others, reflecting broad international support for peaceful engagement.

He noted that the negotiations currently underway in Islamabad have been marked by a constructive spirit from all participating sides. According to him, dialogue and mutual understanding remain essential tools for resolving complex issues.

Rizwan Saeed Sheikh emphasised that Pakistan is primarily acting as a facilitator in the process, rather than a direct party to the dispute. He stressed that the responsibility for resolving outstanding issues ultimately lies with the concerned parties themselves.

The ambassador added that both Pakistan and the wider international community are expressing goodwill towards efforts aimed at a resolution. He also underscored that diplomacy must be given a full and meaningful opportunity at this critical time, as stakeholders seek pathways toward stability and de-escalation.
