In ongoing Pakistan-Afghanistan talks in Istanbul, Pakistan has presented concrete evidence and logical demands to end cross-border terrorism. Mediators have fully endorsed Pakistan’s stance, stating that its requests are backed by evidence and align with international norms.
According to sources, the mediators are engaging in detailed, point-by-point discussions with the Afghan Taliban delegation on every issue raised by Pakistan. Pakistani officials emphasised that the primary goal of the talks is to halt cross-border terrorist activities targeting Pakistan and to establish lasting peace in the region.
During the discussions, the Pakistani delegation highlighted that terrorist attacks originating from Afghanistan are undermining the peace process, and stressed the necessity of effective action against such elements.
Officials also dismissed unverified reports circulating on social media, noting that many of these are either speculation or misleading propaganda with no connection to reality. They added that several claims emerging from Afghan accounts are baseless and fabricated, aimed at influencing the negotiation process.
Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to conducting the talks with seriousness and patience, aiming to restore a climate of trust between the two countries.
