ISLAMABAD: Train operations faced significant disruptions across Pakistan on Tuesday due to a strike by Pakistan Railways employees, who were protesting the non-payment of their dues.
PR employees gathered on a railway track at Cantt station, effectively halting railway operations. As a result, several trains, including the Green Line and Rehman Baba, experienced delays departing from Cantt station.
Earlier, Pakistan Railways had made the strategic decision to modernize and commercialize its railway stations to generate substantial revenue on a larger scale. Caretaker Railways Minister Shahid Ashraf Tarar shared this plan while presiding over a meeting to assess the upgrading and commercialization efforts for Rawalpindi railway station in Islamabad.
