Pakistan raises diesel price by Rs11.30 per litre

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has increased the price of high-speed diesel by Rs11.30 per litre for the next 15 days, while keeping petrol prices unchanged, according to a government notification issued on Saturday.

The notification said the new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs268.38 per litre, effective from midnight.

Petrol will continue to sell at Rs253.17 per litre, it added. The revised prices will remain in force for the next two weeks.

On the other hand, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced an increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices on Saturday.

According to an OGRA notification, the price of LPG has been raised by PKR 6.37 per kilogram, bringing the new price for domestic cylinders to PKR 75.21 per kilogram. The new rates will take effect from February 1, 2026.

OGRA said the increase was due to rising global LPG prices and higher import costs. The price hike is expected to impact households, particularly those reliant on LPG for cooking and domestic use.

The regulator urged consumers to consider alternative energy sources to help manage household expenses amid rising costs.
