ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has categorically rejected a “baseless and fabricated” statement issued by India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), terming it part of a malicious propaganda campaign aimed at misleading the international community.
In a strongly worded statement, the Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson asserted that Pakistan’s recent counter-terrorism operations against militant hideouts in Afghanistan are entirely legitimate, targeted, and proportionate, aimed solely at neutralizing threats to its national security.
The spokesperson added that India’s own track record of undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its neighbouring countries is well-documented and widely recognized.
New Delhi has consistently violated the United Nations Charter, routinely putting regional peace and stability at serious risk, the FO noted.
‘Destabilising force’
The Foreign Office further accused New Delhi of acting as a major destabilising force in South Asia by actively violating UN Security Council sanctions. It noted that while India attempts to shift focus through provocative rhetoric, it continues to brutally suppress the legitimate right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to the FO, India’s state-sponsored subversion extends beyond its borders, alleging that New Delhi is actively supporting terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory to execute subversive activities inside Pakistan.
Call to international community
The spokesperson urged the international community to take notice of New Delhi’s designs and refuse to accord any credibility to India’s baseless allegations and provocative statements.
Reaffirming Islamabad’s resolve to counter external threats, the spokesperson concluded that Pakistan will continue to take all necessary measures, in strict accordance with international law, to robustly protect the safety, security, and sovereignty of its citizens and territory.
