Pakistan, Russia agree to boost parliamentary cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Radio Pakistan reported that Pakistan and Russia agreed on Thursday to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
According to Radio Pakistan, an agreement, to this respect, was signed by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Chairman of the Russian State Duma Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich in Moscow, on Thursday.

The agreement aims at enhancing ties between the two legislative bodies and establishing permanent cooperation mechanisms through parliamentary committees, commissions and parliamentary Friendship groups.
Additionally, speaker Ayaz Sadiq also met with the first deputy chairman council of muftis Damir Mukhetdinov at Moscow cathedral mosque.
The speaker welcomed Russia’s stance on Islamophobia and President Vladimir Putin’s statement on respect for holy religious personalities.
