Pakistan–Saudi launch Green Pakistan Initiative to strengthens in agriculture sector

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia launched the Green Pakistan Initiative during a ceremony held in Islamabad.

As part of the cooperation, Saudi Arabia gifted Pakistan a central irrigation system, marking a new step in bilateral agricultural collaboration.

The Saudi Deputy Minister of Agriculture said that cooperation between the two countries has increased in the areas of food security and livestock.

He added that the Green Initiative is part of shared objectives aimed at strengthening agricultural ties.

Dr Salman bin Ali Al-Khatib said that the use of modern technology in agriculture is being actively promoted and ensured.

He further stated that through dialogue, private partnerships, and the adoption of modern technology, both countries can achieve self-sufficiency in the food sector.
