Pakistan spikes past South Korea to AVC Challenge Cup finals

ISA TOWN: The Pakistan men’s volleyball team engaged in a closely contested match against South Korea in the 2024 Asian Men’s Volleyball (AVC) Challenge Cup semifinal on Saturday to secure a place in the finals.
The Pakistan men’s volleyball team won the first set in a hard fought round with a narrow 25-22. This set the tone for an intense clash between the two Asian teams.

Despite South Korea putting up great resistance, the Pakistan men’s volleyball team were determined to win and cruised to a 25-22 win in the third set.
In the fourth set, both teams exchanged powerful attacks. However, the South Asian team managed to not only hold its own but securing a hard-fought 3-1 victory. This helped secure their place in the tournament finals.
The national volleyball team has given their best performance so far throughout the tournament. The team has an unbeaten streak in 13 matches, establishing themselves as a formidable team in the volleyball sport.
Pakistan will face Qatar in the finals. The latter earned their spot in the championship match with a win over Kazakhstan.
The 2024 Asian Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup is set to take place from June 2 to June 9. Twelve teams are taking part in the tournament. The AVC Challenge Cup is hosted by Bahrain this year.

The tournament took place exclusively at the Isa Bin Rashid Hall, serving as the sole venue. 26 matches are to be played over the course of the event. The tournament is expected to draw a total attendance of 12,947 spectators, an average of 498 attendees per match.
