Pakistan’s cricket team, led by Abbas Afridi, has left for Hong Kong to take part in the Hong Kong Sixes 2025, which will be held from November 7 to 9.
The competition will feature 12 teams split into four groups of three.
Pakistan has been drawn in Pool C alongside India and Kuwait. The national side will begin its campaign on the opening day against Kuwait before facing traditional rivals India at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok.
According to the schedule, Pakistan will play South Africa in the second quarter-final on November 8 at the same venue. The Hong Kong Sixes, first introduced in 2017, made a comeback in 2024 after a seven-year gap.
Pakistan has been a consistent performer in the event, reaching the finals in both previous editions. However, they finished as runners-up on both occasions, losing to South Africa in the first tournament and Sri Lanka in the second.
The team was previously captained by Sohail Tanvir and Faheem Ashraf in the earlier editions. This year, Abbas Afridi will aim to lead the green shirts to their first-ever title in the high-paced, six-a-side cricket spectacle.
