Pakistan successfully tests extended-range version of Fatah-4 cruise missile

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan on Tuesday successfully conducted a test launch of an extended version of the indigenously developed Fatah-4 Ground Launched Cruise Missile (GLCM), the military’s media wing said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the weapon system is equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigational aids and is capable of engaging targets at extended ranges with high precision and lethality.

The test also validated additional technical parameters of various subsystems incorporated into the missile system to improve accuracy and enhance survivability, the ISPR said.

The launch was witnessed by senior Pakistan Army officers, as well as scientists and engineers from the developing agency.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir and the services chiefs congratulated those involved on the successful test launch of the extended version of Fatah-4, the ISPR said.

They also appreciated the technical expertise, dedication and commitment of the scientists, engineers and personnel who contributed to the development and testing of the weapon system.
