Pakistan to host Women T20 World Cup 2028: Will Indian team also play in Pakistan?

NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced key decisions including confirmation that Pakistan will host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2028.

The ICC said following its board meeting held in India that matches involving India during the tournament will be played at a neutral venue.

The global cricket governing body also approved a change in the schedule of the ICC Women’s Champions Trophy 2027.

Originally planned for June and July, Champions Trophy will now be held from February 14 to 28, 2027.

During the meeting, the ICC also decided to suspend the membership of theCricket Canada.

The decision was taken due to serious violation of membership responsibilities made by the board, the ICC said.

The ICC also suspended the USA Cricket over membership rule breaches last year. The US national teams continue to participate in the events of the ICC and are set to compete at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

The announcements were made in an official ICC press release issued after the board meeting, outlining several governance and tournament-related decisions for the coming years.
