Pakistan, US discuss boosting trade and investment ties in Washington meeting

Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with the Office of the United States Trade Representative in Washington, where both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and the United States, emphasising the importance of deepening commercial engagement and expanding mutual opportunities.

Aurangzeb reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to improving market access and creating a more conducive environment for trade. He stressed that Islamabad remains focused on facilitating business and attracting investment through policy reforms and stronger economic collaboration.

Officials from both sides described the discussions as constructive, highlighting a shared intent to promote trade and investment flows. They also reviewed prospects for further strengthening commercial linkages and explored avenues to build on existing frameworks.

The participants expressed satisfaction over progress in ongoing trade negotiations, signalling positive momentum in efforts aimed at reinforcing Pakistan-US economic relations.
