Pakistan, US launch 13th joint military exercise ‘Inspired Gambit–2026’


WEB DESK: akistan and the United States have commenced their 13th bilateral joint military exercise, Inspired Gambit–2026, at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi, aimed at enhancing counter-terrorism cooperation and operational coordination between the two forces, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The two-week-long exercise, which began on January 9, brings together professional contingents from both armies to share counter-terrorism experiences and strengthen interoperability. Officials from both countries attended the opening ceremony.

The drills focus on urban warfare and precision marksmanship, while also emphasising mutual understanding of operational doctrines and best practices. The exercise provides an opportunity to refine tactics, techniques, and procedures essential for effective counter-terrorism operations.

According to the ISPR, joint training exercises like Inspired Gambit–2026 are vital for addressing evolving security challenges, improving professional military standards, and enhancing the capacity of both forces to operate in complex counter-terrorism environments.

The exercise reflects the continued commitment of Pakistan and the US to collaborative efforts for regional peace and stability, strengthening ties through practical engagement and professional military cooperation.
