Pakistan win hockey, volleyball bronze medals at Asian Games

Pakistan won bronze medals in both hockey and men’s volleyball at the Asian Games after defeating South Korea and China respectively in their third-place matches.
The Pakistan hockey team beat South Korea 5-3 in an exciting third-place play-off to secure the bronze medal.
The match was level at 3-3 in the fourth quarter before Pakistan produced a strong finish, scoring two more goals to seal victory and claim third place.

Rana Waheed scored twice for Pakistan, while Sufyan Khan, Abdul Rehman and Hannan Shahid scored one goal each.
The hockey bronze took Pakistan’s overall medal tally at the Asian Games to 10.
Pakistan beat China in volleyball
Pakistan also secured a bronze medal in the men’s volleyball event after defeating China in straight sets in the third-place match.
In the match played in Nagoya, Japan, Pakistan won 25-18, 25-16 and 25-18 to complete a 3-0 victory.
The Pakistani team maintained its advantage from the start of all three sets and kept the Chinese side under pressure throughout the match.
Pakistan had lost their semi-final against Iran in straight sets. In the semi-final played a day earlier at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium, Iran won 25-13, 25-15 and 25-11 to secure a place in the final.
India beat Pakistan in cricket final
Meanwhile, India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the Asian Games cricket final to win the gold medal, leaving Pakistan with silver.
India set Pakistan a target of 212 runs after scoring 211 in their allotted 20 overs.
Pakistan could only manage 192 runs in reply, handing India the gold medal in the cricket event.
