Pakistan’s Haider Ali wins bronze medal at Paralympics 2024

Pakistan’s para-athlete Haider Ali secured a bronze medal with a throw of 52.54 meters on his sixth and final attempt in the Men’s Discus Throw F37 event at the Stade de France on Friday. This mark, which was his best of the season, earned him his fourth Paralympic medal.

His first attempt was a throw of 52.28 meters, but he did not record a valid distance in his next four attempts.

Uzbekistan’s Tolibboy Yuldashev claimed the gold medal with a series of impressive throws. After initially taking the lead with a 53.48-meter throw on his fourth attempt, he improved to 56.03 meters on his fifth attempt and ultimately achieved a 57.28-meter throw on his sixth attempt to secure the top spot.

The Paralympic Games are global sports events specifically for athletes with disabilities. Held shortly after the Olympic Games in the same host city, the term “Paralympics” signifies “alongside the Olympics.

It should be noted that 4,400 athletes are competing in 23 different sports events at the Paralympics.

Haider Ali is the only athlete representing Pakistan in the Paralympics.
