LONDON: The New England Patriots are signing former Houston Texans defensive end Darrell Taylor to their practice squad, according to NFL Network.
Taylor was waived by Houston on Monday, just four days before the Patriots host the Texans in an AFC divisional playoff game on Sunday. The Patriots are looking to boost their pass rush, and there’s a strong possibility Taylor could be elevated for the game.
The 28-year-old Taylor was a second-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2020 NFL Draft. Over 69 career games (13 starts) with Seattle (2021-23), the Chicago Bears (2024), and Houston (2025), he has recorded 24.5 sacks, 43 quarterback hits, seven forced fumbles, and 126 tackles.
This season, Taylor appeared in four games for Houston, recording three tackles. His last outing was in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos.
