PCB allows Sikandar Raza to meet family in hotel

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed Lahore Qalandars’ all-rounder Sikandar Raza to meet his family at the team hotel, despite strict security protocols in place for players participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Raza, a Pakistan-born Zimbabwe international cricketer, is currently representing Lahore Qalandars in the ongoing tournament. Due to his busy international schedule, he rarely gets the opportunity to spend time with his family.

Following the meeting, the all-rounder expressed his gratitude to the PCB management for facilitating the arrangement.

Earlier, Raza and Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi came under scrutiny for allegedly violating security protocols. The issue surfaced after police officials reported that the players had met with unauthorized individuals at the team hotel. As a result, Afridi was fined Rs1 million and instructed to ensure such incidents are not repeated.

The ongoing PSL season marks Raza’s fourth appearance in the tournament. He made his debut in 2019 and has since featured in multiple editions, representing different teams.

Raza has delivered strong performances during his PSL career. He was part of the squad when Quetta Gladiators defeated Peshawar Zalmi in 2019, and later played a key role for Lahore Qalandars in their title-winning campaigns in 2023 and 2025, where they beat Multan Sultans in the finals.

This season, Raza remains committed to contributing fully to the Qalandars as the tournament progresses.
