PCB reveals Pakistan’s playing XI for 1st test against Bangladesh

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the playing XI for the first Test against Bangladesh, set to begin on August 21 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Shan Masood will captain the side.
The team includes key batsmen Saud Shakeel, Abdullah Shafique, and the prolific Babar Azam, who are expected to strengthen the batting lineup.
The fast bowling attack will be led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, with Mohammad Ali, Naseem Shah, and emerging talent Khurram Shahzad rounding out the pace options.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Rizwan is also part of the squad, along with all-rounder Salman Ali Agha, who will be the sole spinner in the team.
Notably, this Test will mark Jason Gillespie’s debut as head coach of the Pakistan cricket team.
All-rounder Aamer Jamal has been released from the squad due to a back injury and will focus on his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
