PCB warns ex-cricketers over participation in unauthorised Zambia league

WEB DESK: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday warned current and former cricketers against participating in the Asian Legends League in Zambia, saying the event has not been approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The ICC has declared the Asian Legends League an unauthorised tournament, making participation without prior approval a violation of regulations, according to a PCB spokesperson.

For those of the players taking part in the league without obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the PCB will face a two-year ban, the statement added.

The board further warned that any current or former cricketer found breaching the rules will be barred from holding any position with the PCB or the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for two years.

The domestic cricket governing body reiterated that all current and former Pakistan cricketers must secure an NOC from the board before participating in any overseas league or cricket event.

The source added that the PCB remains committed to strict compliance with ICC regulations and protecting the integrity of the game, stressing that players must obtain clearance from their home board before featuring in any foreign tournament.
