ISLAMABAD: Details of the facilities provided to the former premier and founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan in Adiala Jail have emerged for the first time, offering a rare glimpse into his daily routine and living conditions, according to official reports.

Imran Khan’s compound in Adiala Jail consists of seven cells with a combined capacity to accommodate 30 to 35 prisoners. A 57-foot-long and 14-foot-wide corridor runs in front of the cells, and a 35 by 37-foot lawn is located adjacent to the compound, allowing the founder to sit, read books and newspapers, and enjoy sunlight.

The prison administration has also provided the PTI founder with a cycling machine and other gym equipment for exercise. Meals have reportedly been tailored with a variety of items: breakfast includes dates, walnuts, coffee porridge, lassi [yogurt/milk smoothie], hot milk, chia seeds, and juices such as musami [sweet lime] and pomegranate. Lunch comprises local chicken, mutton, salad, pickle mix, potato chips, fried eggs, and mixed lentils, while evening shakes include almond, coconut powder, milk, dates, bananas, and apples.

The superintendent of Adiala Jail said that the founder is granted access to natural light and fresh air throughout the day and has been kept in a secure and safe environment. The facilities reportedly represent a higher class of accommodation within the prison.
