ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and National Assembly member Sher Afzal Marwat has alleged rampant corruption during the previous PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that individuals transitioned from billionaires to trillionaires through illicit means and corruption.
During a live session on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Marwat said that former KP chief minister Mahmood Khan now earns a staggering Rs2.5 million daily from a single mine.
Additionally, Marwat said, current KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also previously talked about corruption involving nine PTI ministers in the province.
Regarding the decision to keep PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala jail instead of his residence in Bani Gala, Marwat clarified that it was a collective party decision, refuting his sole involvement in this regard. He also mentioned the presence of Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, during discussions about this decision.
Marwat emphasized the symbolism of the decision, suggesting that confining the former prime minister to Bani Gala would have been akin to leaving him in a wilderness.
