Permission granted to hold O and A-Level exams during holidays

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration has granted permission to conduct O-Level and A-Level examinations in Islamabad during the holidays declared for educational institutions in Islamabad on the occasion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
After the government has announced the three day holidays from October 14 to October 16, all locals exams have been postponed in the federal capital.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz said that three centres have been designated for O and A-Level exams, which will remain open despite the holidays.
The designated examination centres are in E-11, Noor Mahal (GT Road) and H-8. These centres will continue to operate, while other educational institutions will observe holidays from October 14 to 16, he said.
The federal government has announced public holidays in both Rawalpindi and Islamabad from October 14 to 16 due to the SCO summit, with additional holidays falling on Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13.
In Rawalpindi, the administration has ordered the closure of marriage halls, snooker clubs and cash-and-carry malls from October 12 to 16.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has also declared public holidays from October 14 to 16 in connection with the SCO conference.
