Perth Scorchers dominate Adelaide Strikers to win by 33 runs in BBL thriller


SYDNEY: The Perth Scorchers put on a commanding performance to defeat the Adelaide Strikers by 33 runs in a high-octane Big Bash League clash. Chasing a challenging total of 154, the Strikers managed only 120 in 18.1 overs, falling well short of the target.

Mitchell Marsh led the Scorchers’ charge with a measured 37 off 33 balls, while Sam Fanning’s quickfire 31 off 24 kept the momentum on Perth’s side. Captain Ashton Turner provided the finishing touch with a blazing 28 off just 14 deliveries, maintaining a strike rate of 200. The team posted a total of 153 for 8 in 20 overs, showcasing depth and explosive batting.

The Adelaide Strikers struggled against disciplined bowling, with Lloyd Pope and Tabraiz Shamsi sharing key wickets. Despite some resistance from the middle order, the Strikers never got close to the target.
