Earlier today, he was arrested again soon after his release from Adiala jail. He was arrested by NAB following the expiry of a 30-day detention order under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

On July 16, the detention order issued by Lahore DC Rafia Haider, stated that Lahore police had reported that Elahi was “an active member and firebrand speaker” of the PTI.

In the order, the Lahore DC said, “There is a genuine concern that not only he but also his followers have the potential of damaging both public and private properties and may create road blockage situation.”

Elahi is among several PTI leaders and workers who have been arrested following the May 9 incident, following the arrest of the PTI chief.
