PESCO CEO Eng Akhtar Hameed Khan affirmed that comprehensive preparations had been made to guarantee uninterrupted electricity provision throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dawn News reported on Wednesday.
PESCO’s spokesman Usman Saleem disclosed the establishment of a dedicated control room at the company’s headquarters to swiftly address any potential emergencies. This control room, overseen by PESCO’s chief engineers, will closely monitor all significant election centres.
Saleem further noted that uninterrupted power would be extended to polling stations, key election offices, including the Provincial Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) Office, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office, district election commissioners’ offices, as well as offices of district returning officers (DRO), and returning officers (RO). Additionally, communication towers would receive continuous power to uphold the communication infrastructure.
In readiness for the electoral period, all PESCO operations officers, encompassing executive engineers and sub-divisional officers, are on heightened alert for the duration of the three days, committed to delivering optimal services. Moreover, essential maintenance and repair work on electrical installations have been concluded, with stringent safety protocols in place.
