Man in Peshawar penalised for second marriage without first wife’s consent

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Family Court sentenced a husband to three months in prison and imposed a fine of Rs5,000 for marrying without the consent of his first wife.

According to the verdict, failure to pay the fine will result in an additional fifteen days of imprisonment. Judge Ghulam Hameed issued the ruling.

After the court’s decision, the convict was arrested from the courtroom and transferred to the central jail. The wife had filed a case against her husband for two thousand twenty-five.
