WEB DESK: Authorities are investigating the recent attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Saddar, Peshawar on November 24.
Sources have revealed that the attackers used a stolen motorcycle, which had been reported missing in Rawalpindi and registered in an FIR at the relevant police station. Several suspects have been taken into custody, and inquiries are ongoing as the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) works to determine the details and motives behind the assault. Officials are continuing to scrutinise the suspects and the stolen vehicle to uncover any links to broader networks or planned attacks.
Three suicide attackers had launched a coordinated assault on the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Saddar area. One attacker detonated explosives at the main gate, while the other two tried to enter firing weapons but were neutralised by security forces. Two suicide jackets and eight hand grenades were recovered, and officials believe the attackers were from Afghanistan.
The attack claimed the lives of three FC personnel, Havaldar Alamzeb, Sepoy Riyasat, and Sepoy Altaf—while four others were injured and shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, all in stable condition. A clearance operation is ongoing, and the area remains under tight security. Roads were sealed, and BRT services temporarily suspended.
IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed had noted that explosions took place at the main gate and near the motorcycle stand. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack, praised the swift response of security forces, and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, reaffirming the government’s commitment to combating terrorism.
