Peshawar universities, colleges to observe summer vacations from June 15

WEB DESK: The Higher Education Department, Archives and Libraries, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has announced summer vacations for universities and colleges across the province, issuing an official notification detailing the holiday schedule for both summer and winter zones.

According to the notification, educational institutions falling in the summer zone will observe vacations from June 15 to August 31.

In contrast, institutions located in the winter zone will close for summer break from July 1 to July 31. The department clarified that the schedule will apply uniformly to both public and private sector universities, colleges, and higher education institutions across the province.

Applicability across institutions

The notification further stated that the summer vacation schedule will be binding on all higher education institutions, regardless of their administrative category.

However, the four-year BS programme will continue in accordance with the existing academic calendar, ensuring that students’ coursework progression remains unaffected.

Examinations to proceed as scheduled

It was also clarified that all examinations and practical assessments will be conducted as per the pre-determined timetable without any alteration due to the summer break.

The department emphasised that academic continuity and examination discipline will be maintained across all institutions despite the vacation period.
