Petition filed in Supreme Court to nullify February 8 elections

ISLAMABAD: In a dramatic turn of events, a petition has been lodged with the Supreme Court urging the nullification of the recent February 8 elections.

The application, filed on behalf of citizen named Ali Khan, seeks to overturn the electoral outcome, citing alleged irregularities and malpractices.

The petition also calls for the annulment of the February 8 elections and halting the process of government formation resulting from these polls. It also demands the initiation of fresh elections within a 30-day timeframe, to be conducted under the strict supervision of the judiciary.

Central to the petition are allegations of rigging and election fraud, with a firm demand for thorough investigations into these claims. Furthermore, the petition calls for decisive action to be taken against those found responsible for any wrongdoing during the electoral process.

The Federal Government and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) have been named as respondents in the petition.
