Petrol and diesel prices surged; notification issued

WEB DESK: The federal government on late Thursday evening announced an increase in the prices of both petrol and high-speed diesel, with new rates coming into effect from 12 AM tonight.

According to the notification issued by OGRA, petrol price has been increased by Rs4.40 per litre, while high-speed diesel has become costlier by Rs3.62 per litre.

Following the adjustment, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs331.52 per litre, whereas high-speed diesel will now be available at Rs378.66 per litre.

The revised prices will come into effect from midnight, according to the notification issued by the government.

The increase comes as part of the regular fortnightly review of petroleum product prices based on changes in international oil markets and other relevant factors.
