Petrol, diesel prices per litre surged, as govt updates rates

WEB DESK: The federal government on late Thursday evening increased the prices of petrol and diesel, with the new rates taking effect after a notification was issued.

The price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs1.64 per litre, taking its new price to Rs364.70 per litre.

Similarly, the price of petrol has gone up by 27 paisas per litre, with the new rate fixed at Rs337.78 per litre. The revised prices have been notified by the government, saying the updated prices are effective until tomorrow.

The notification has been issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

On late Wednesday evening, the government announced a major cut in the price of HSD while increasing the rate of petrol. The price of diesel had been reduced by Rs32.63 per litre, bringing it down to Rs363.06 per litre.
