Petrol price reduced, diesel surged as new rates announced

WEB DESK: The federal government on Monday night revised petroleum prices, reducing the price of petrol while increasing the rate of high-speed diesel under the latest adjustment. The new petrol and diesel prices will take effect from tonight and remain in force until the next price review.

According to the revised rates, petrol will now be available at Rs334.18 per litre, down from the previous price of Rs335.18 per litre, giving a relief of a single digit to the citizens.

Meanwhile, the price of diesel has been increased to Rs386.83 per litre from Rs383.46 per litre.

The Petroleum Division has clarified that the existing prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged till Tuesday.

The government said it would continue revising petrol and diesel prices on a daily basis as global oil markets remain volatile amid ongoing US-Iran tensions.
