Petrol price rises by Rs4.42, diesel by Rs6.10 per litre

The federal government has increased the prices of petrol and High Speed Diesel (HSD) for the 6th consecutive time, according to a notification.

According to the latest price revision, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs4.42 per litre, while the price of High Speed Diesel has risen by Rs6.10 per litre.

Following the latest increase, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs380.24per litre, while HSD will now cost Rs409.42 per litre.

The government approved the revised prices following an updated notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The new prices will come into effect from tonight and will stay in practice until tomorrow, according to the notification.

The latest hike marked the sixth consecutive increase in petrol and diesel prices.

The repeated increases in petroleum prices have further increased the fuel cost burden on consumers.
