ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday evening revised the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) following a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The price of petrol was increased by Rs1.82 per litre, while the price of diesel was reduced by 91 paisas per litre.

The revised prices will take effect from tonight and remain in effect until new prices are announced, according to the OGRA notification.

The price of petrol has been increased to Rs396.65 per litre, while diesel has been reduced to Rs394.94 per litre.

The Petroleum Division said the revised prices are linked to petroleum prices in the international market.

Oil prices rise in international market

Crude oil prices rose in the international market over the past 24 hours, with Brent and US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude gaining 0.92 per cent.

Brent crude oil prices increased by 93 cents, or 0.92 per cent, to $101.51 per barrel.

Meanwhile, US WTI crude prices rose by 82 cents, or 0.92 per cent, to $90.25 per barrel.

The rise in oil prices comes amid concerns over possible supply disruptions from US oil-producing regions and attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Saudi Arabia.

At the same time, crude oil supplies from the Middle East continue to increase.
