PHC orders release of Ali Muhammad Khan


PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former MNA Ali Mohammad Khan earlier today.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Ijaz Anwar accepted Khan’s plea, ordering his immediate release.

The petitioner, who has been arrested eight times was currently being detained under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

The counsel for the former minister of state told the court his client was arrested despite high court’s orders for his release on July 25.

Nadeem Shah informed the court that Ali Muhammad Khan was arrested on the orders of the Mardan Deputy Commissioner.

PHC has summoned DC Mardan on the next hearing of the case on August 8.
