PIA, Biman Bangladesh sign historic cargo agreement

Karachi: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Bangladesh’s Biman Airlines have signed a historic cargo agreement.

According to a PIA spokesperson, the two national carriers have entered into a special cargo interline prorate agreement, which will take effect from December 1, 2025.

The partnership aims to streamline air-cargo movement between the two countries. Under the agreement, key Saudi Arabian cities — Jeddah, Madinah, and Riyadh — will serve as transit gateways.

The spokesperson said the collaboration will create a strategic regional trade corridor and help reduce logistical challenges in transporting high-value goods such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural products.

With the combined network of both airlines, customers will benefit from reliable and cost-effective cargo solutions.

PIA remains committed to providing Pakistani exporters and importers with access to the region’s most efficient cargo services, the spokesperson added.
