WEB DESK: The Board of Directors of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL) has approved a bonus equivalent to one basic salary for airline employees at its 102nd meeting, which was also its first meeting after privatisation.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the board’s decision reflects the new management’s strategy of placing its workforce at the centre of efforts to revive and develop the national airline.
The bonus aims to encourage employees, recognise their services and further motivate them to contribute towards achieving the airline’s new targets, expanding flight operations and improving service standards, the spokesperson said.

The approval of the bonus at the first board meeting after privatisation reflects the new management’s priority of improving employee welfare and restoring their confidence, the spokesperson added.
According to the spokesperson, the new management is confident of building a strong, efficient and globally competitive airline, with employees playing a central role in the process.
The PIA spokesperson said the approval of a bonus equivalent to one basic salary was a positive and strong start by the new management.
The initiative is expected to boost employee morale while contributing to improved airline operations, enhanced customer service and greater institutional stability.
